Balanced Budget

Over the past few years, the government has raised almost every single tax and fee, tough medicine they said that would bring a balance budget.

Since 2008-09, Nova Scotians pay:

  • $706,547,000 or 38% more in total income taxes
  • $586,287,000 or 50% more in total HST

Taxpayers in total shell out $1,785,226 or about $1,800 extra in taxes for every man, woman and child in Nova Scotia.

So why can’t the government balance the budget?

Because they just keep on spending.

Since 2009, government spending is up over one billion dollars!

And despite all that spending some groups are pressuring the government to spend even more.

Let’s hold the government to their promise that they’d balance the budget this year. It’s time government stopped to spending money they don’t have.
